We understand that privacy online is important to users of our Site, especially when conducting business. This statement governs our privacy policies with respect to those users of the Site ("Visitors") who visit without transacting business and Visitors who register to transact business on the Site and make use of the various services offered by West Central Community Action (collectively, "Programs") ("Applicants").

We may collect basic user profile information from all of our Visitors. We collect the following additional information from our Applicants: the names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and social security numbers of our Applicants.

What organizations are collecting the information?
In addition to our direct collection of information, the information may also be shared with state and federal agencies when needed to process an application for state and federal programs.

 

How does the Site use Personally Identifiable Information?
We use Personally Identifiable Information to customize the Site, to make appropriate service offerings. We may email Visitors and Applicants about information related to the subject matter of the Site. We may also use Personally Identifiable Information to contact Visitors and Applicants in response to specific inquiries or to provide the requested information.

With whom may the information be shared?
We may share aggregated information about our Visitors, including the demographics of our Visitors and Applicants, with our affiliated agencies.

 

How is Personally Identifiable Information stored?
Personally Identifiable Information collected by West Central Community Action is securely stored and is not accessible to third parties or employees of West Central Community Action except for use as indicated above.

 

What choices are available to Visitors regarding collection, use, and distribution of the information?
Visitors and Applicants may opt out of receiving unsolicited information from or being contacted by us and/or our vendors and affiliated agencies by responding to emails as instructed, or by contacting us at info@westcca.org

Cookies are used for a variety of reasons. We use Cookies to obtain information about the preferences of our Visitors and the services they select.

How does West Central Community Action use login information?
West Central Community Action uses login information, including, but not limited to, IP addresses, ISPs, and browser types, to analyze trends, administer the Site, track a user's movement and use, and gather broad demographic information.

What partners or service providers have access to Personally Identifiable Information from Visitors and/or Applicants on the Site?
West Central Community Action has entered into and will continue to enter into partnerships and other affiliations with a number of programs and grantors. Such programs and grantors may have access to certain Personally Identifiable Information on a need to know the basis for evaluating Applicants for program eligibility. Our privacy policy does not cover their collection or use of this information. Disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information to comply with the law. We will disclose Personally Identifiable Information in order to comply with a court order or subpoena or a request from a law enforcement agency to release information. We will also disclose Personally Identifiable Information when reasonably necessary to protect the safety of our Visitors and Applicants.

How does the Site keep Personally Identifiable Information secure?
All of our employees are familiar with our security policy and practices. The Personally Identifiable Information of our Visitors and Applicants is only accessible to a limited number of qualified employees who are given a password in order to gain access to the information. We audit our security systems and processes on a regular basis. Sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or social security numbers, is protected by encryption protocols, in place to protect information sent over the Internet. While we take commercially reasonable measures to maintain a secure site, electronic communications and databases are subject to errors, tampering, and break-ins, and we cannot guarantee or warrant that such events will not take place and we will not be liable to Visitors or Applicants for any such occurrences.

How can Visitors correct any inaccuracies in Personally Identifiable Information?
Visitors and Applicants may contact us to update Personally Identifiable Information about them or to correct any inaccuracies by emailing us at info@westcca.org

We will let our Visitors and Applicants know about changes to our privacy policy by posting such changes on the Site.

Whistleblower Policy

Did you know?

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 gross mismanagement of an agency contract or grant relating to recovery funds; provides protections for certain employees of non-federal employers who make specified disclosures relating to possible fraud, waste and/or abuse or Recovery Act funds.

 

Who is protected?

Employees of non-federal employers receiving recovery funds. This includes State and local governments, contractors, subcontractors, grantees or professional membership organizations acting in the interest of recovery fund recipients.

 

How are Whistleblowers Protected?

You cannot be discharged, demoted or otherwise discriminated against as a reprisal for making a protected disclosure.

 

What types of disclosures are protected?

The disclosure must be made by the employee to the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, an Inspector General, the Comptroller General, a member of Congress, a state or federal regulatory or law enforcement agency, a person with supervisory authority over the employee, a court or grand jury, or the head of a federal agency or his/her representatives.

The disclosure must involve information that the employee believes is evidence of:

• a gross waste of recovery funds;
• a substantial and specific danger to public health or safety related to the implementation or use of recovery funds;
• an abuse of authority related to the implementation or use of recovery funds; or
• a violation of law, rule, or regulation related to an agency contract or grant awarded or issued relating to recovery funds.

Child Support Recovery Services

Notice of Referral Policy & Posting

In order for the agency to comply with federal government requirements, we need to assure that referrals are being made to custodial parents who may be eligible to receive child support.  

 

Per CSBG Federal Regulations: “SEC.678G. Drug and Child Support Services and Referrals

(b) Child support services and referrals- During each fiscal year for which an eligible entity receives a grant under section 9907 for this title, such entity shall-

(1) Inform custodial parents in single-parent families that participate in programs, activities or services carried out or provided under this chapter about the availability of child support services; and

(2) Refer eligible parents to the child support offices of State and local governments.”

 

Agency program staff that provides referrals to families served by West Central Community Action who may benefit from exploring assistance provided by Child Support Recovery Services will receive a copy of this Notice of Referral in order to contact their local Child Support Recovery Unit (Offices are open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. central time, Monday – Friday, except for state holidays).
