Monona County Outreach Center Staff

Monona County Outreach

The Monona County Outreach Center provides client intake, client assessment, client referrals, and coordinates with other community resources. The outreach center has a certified Family Development Specialist, assisted by senior aides and occasionally community volunteers. Staff work closely with local organizations to insure non-duplication of services and to maximize resources for resolving local poverty issues.

The goal is to strive to assist low-income families of Monona County in becoming self-sufficient. A wide variety of programs, services, and referrals reflect this accomplishment.

Programs offered through the Monona County Outreach Center are: emergency food assistance, LIHEAP, Weatherization, and rent and utility assistance. In addition, Energy Wise kits are distributed.

Clients may receive emergency food assistance up to once a week through September 30 and then only four times a year.

Special projects include a Back to School Program, Holiday Gift Program, and Food Baskets during the month of December.

Other staff in this office include a Family Development Self-Sufficiency Specialist (FaDSS).

On an as-needed basis Vocational Rehab, Domestic Violence, Iowa Workforce Development, and USDA Rural Development.

Anyone is welcome to drop by, inquire about services, and speak with staff. Also, please inquire about any of West Central’s other programs such as Head Start, WIC, Senior Aide Employment, and Child Care referrals.
