The Fremont County Outreach Center houses a food pantry, which families may use up to four times a year. This center also accepts applications for the South Iowa Regional Housing Authority, Head Start, and energy and weatherization programs. Special projects of the Fremont center include: distribution of school supplies in August; holiday food baskets in November and December; the Giving Tree holiday gift program in December; and Stork's Nest, a program for pregnant mothers to earn points to buy infant-related supplies.
